Dinner Time in Dubai- JBs Gastropub

One of my favorite thing about having the weekends off in Dubai is the luxury to discover somewhere new to eat with my boyfriend- Gavin.

I may be really late jumping on the bandwagon with this one, but JBs Gastropub in the Amwaj Rotana JBR is simply sensational. It serves what I can only describe as 'gourmet pub food'.

Everyone that knows me will know just how much I love my food. I am a real foodie, I cringe at saying that fashionable word- but I honestly do love my food.

I know that my boyfriend is the perfect match for me as he he thinks just like me- 'when is my next meal, and what shall I have?'; naturally when we are together and not working we love nothing more than going out for some tasty grub in Dubai, our home.

JBs has a great vibe inside, the decor has an industrial feel with concrete floors and metal cages above the bar, I felt like it oozed coolness.

As we were going for an evening meal and a few drinks with dinner we sat in the eating area in front of the bar. It was buzzing as it was a Thursday night but even though it was busy I didn't feel on top of other people. I enjoyed the spacious layout of the dining lounge area and liked how the bar and high top tables were kept separate.

Keep in mind happy hour is between 5-8pm- always important.

The menu reminded me a little like The Scenes' in Pier 7 and the Dhow and Anchor @ Jumeirah Beach Hotel- in the sense that it serves British food with a slight twist.

The most unique part of the menu and the pub itself is the meat display, full of chorizo, iberico ham, prosciutto ham, salami and plenty of other meats. YES they serve real pork!

Gavin and I ended up on deciding to go for the metre long option of a sausage, you can choose half a metre but when you put two 'foodies'together (yes I used that word again) then obviously it's the metre all the way.

We went for the option of half spicy chicken chorizo sausage and half veal sausage, it came with all the condiments you could imagine- mustard, tomato chutney, caramelized onions and another type of sweet dipping sauce. Of course we couldn't order a sausage without chips so we opted to share a cone.

We have eaten at a lot of different places in Dubai and I honestly don't know why it took us so long to try this place out. We polished our main off in no time and of course it was only a matter of minutes until we looked at the desert menu.

Again the sweets did not disappoint and with a lot of variety on the menu just like the mains it was quite a tricky decision. In the end the chocolate torte with vanilla ice cream and bread and butter bites with custard and jam won.

With such a sweet tooth we had half and half and again we were both very impressed with how tasty everything was.

I would definitely recommend this place, and for any cabin crew friends we get discount during lunch time, brilliant!
