Dubai Desert Horse Riding Experience

Valentines Day is just around the corner and for any V day haters who find the day cringey and would prefer to do something a little less stereotypical with their SO then I would recommend a desert horse ride.

Gavin and I have been together nearly two years in May and I now know that Feb 14th is not one of his favorite days in the calendar.
Telling me that he finds it completely 'commercialised' and doesn't need a special day to tell me he loves me when he can do it 365 days of the year- I actually get where he's coming from.
I'll be landing from Taipei early Valentines day morning and to be honest we still haven't really made much of a plan for the evening yet.
I'm in no way upset because Gavin had actually planned an early Valentines day surprise for me (he can be romantic!) We ventured out into the desert yesterday to ride horses into the sandy dunes of the Sharjah desert.
'Al Dhabi Riding School' offers the chance for a small group of people to be taken out on the horses for an hour where you trot up and down the dunes. It was absolutely beautiful, we started around quarter past three in the afternoon so half way back the sun was beaming down on us and it was magical.
The leader who took us out was a very tiny Indian man- you could tell he rode the horses because of his stature. He was very sweet and made sure that I felt confident before getting on the horse. I hadn't been on a horse in years and the same for Gavin so to begin with we were a little apprehensive but after a while we both felt much more confident and it was amazing to just relax and enjoy the views and the ride.

I rode this beautiful horse called 'Kenya'.

It was nice that we had time to get some quick snaps in!

This is one of my favorites of the day, Kenya looks comical likes shes flashing her 'pearly whites'!

Gavin rode 'Dinosaur'- which we both thought was very fitting!
Overall it was really special, I have done alot of different things all over the world however this has to be one of my favorite experiences. I'm sure it was due to the fact I got to share it with Gavin- often when I am away with work I do alot of amazing things but I always wish he was there with me, but it was also so peaceful and calm out in the desert, I loved it.
So gents, I am mostly aiming it at guys- if you need a little guidance on what to get your girl on Valentines day or even if you just want to treat her, then I would recommend this. Just do a little background check first and find out whether or not she likes horses!
There are always plenty of offers on Groupon also so make sure you check that out!
Experience rating 5/5!
Lotsa Love
